The Good Ol’ Days

Gone are those days!
the good ol’ days…
This makes me wonder how good those days were…

love reigned among all?
No racial killings?
No ritual killings?
No sociopaths loose on streets, killing under the guise of fighting for something

when they are really killing for the fun of it?
No corrupt government?
When democracy was really the government of the people, for the people, by the people?
when ‘human right’ was human right?
when the thirst for power is not what drive ‘leaders’?
when the masses do not suffer from the hands of those they elected?

no corruption in schools?
when students dare not bribe teachers for good grades?
when cultism couldn’t be practiced openly, hence, it was secret?
when lecturers do not molest students?
No corruption in law enforcement agencies?
no bribery in streets?
No unrighteousness in religious places?
Churches are not established for money making?
When you are shown the right way and not forced to walk in it?

If this was how good those days were,
then I mourn those good ol’ days
as times have changed
and we live in barbaric times
even though we claim to be civilized,
I mourn those good days,
because these days you cant trust even your closest companion.
Then we have to cry to the good Lord for mercy
to bring back those good days
that peace may reign once again.
